A new Paranormal Activity movie is coming to Paramount+ in 2022. The latest installment from Blumhouse was previously slated for theatrical release on March 4, 2022, but will now call the newly formed Paramount+ home.

William Eubank (Underwater) will direct from a screenplay by Christopher Landon (Happy Death DayFreaky). Not only is Christopher the son of legendary actor/producer Michael Landon, but he has penned Paranormal Activity 2-4, as well as The Marked Ones (which he also directed).

The reigning purveyor of horror, Jason Blum, and Paranormal Activity writer/director Oren Peli, are producing. While there is virtually no information about the film’s plot, it has been rumored that Katie Featherston may return to the project. Fans of the franchise will be pleased to know that while this is being called a ‘reboot,’ the new Paranormal Activity will retain its ‘found footage’ aesthetic.

The original centers on a couple who become increasingly disturbed by what appears to be a supernatural presence. They set up video cameras in their house, hoping to capture it on film. But they are not prepared for the terror that follows.

FearWire will report on the very latest news about Paranormal Activity 7. Stay tuned!
